Once upon a time, it was voted best Brunch in the state of Georgia. That was some years ago, but it will give you a good indicator of what’s going on at B. Matthew’s Eatery. The space on Bay Street at Habersham is about as historic as it gets in Savannah. The owner tells us the deed to the building says “Oldest Tavern in the South” on it. While that hasn’t been proven or unproven yet, the items they have found inside of some walls during various renovations will tell you there is a lot of history in that space. Oh by the way, the food is very good as well, led by the Bay Street Scramble, pictured below. They are also open for lunch and a very underrated dinner service in Savannah. Click here for more
